Description
E13007-1 – NPN Power Switching Transistor
(Used in SMPS, inverters, and high-voltage drivers)
General Description
The E13007-1 is a high-voltage, high-speed NPN bipolar junction transistor (BJT) designed specifically for switch-mode power supply applications. It combines high voltage withstand capability with fast switching performance and low saturation voltage.
It is usually found in a TO-220 package and is often used in CRT TVs, SMPS power supplies, DC-DC converters, and similar power electronics.

Typical Applications
- Switch-mode power supplies (SMPS)
- Flyback and forward converters
- CRT and TV power sections
- DC-AC inverters
- High-voltage, high-speed switching
Features
- High voltage withstand (up to 700V VCBO)
- High collector current (8A continuous)
- Fast switching speeds (~4MHz fT)
- Low saturation voltage
- Economical and widely available
Design Tips
- Needs proper heatsinking to manage power dissipation
- Drive the base with adequate current to ensure full saturation during switching
- Use snubber networks to suppress voltage spikes across collector-emitter during flyback switching
- For efficient switching, avoid using this in linear amplifier configurations
